To celebrate the amazing local cideries and breweries here in NS, we’re hosting our first ever Snakebite Competition over the long weekend in February.
Five cideries and five breweries are teaming up and facing off against each other on February 15.
It’ll be Sourwood Cider and Tidehouse Brewing Company
Lake City Cider and Spindrift Brewing Company
Meander River Farm and Meander River Farm
Chain Yard Cider and North Brewing Company
And pulling weight for the Valley Maritime Express Cider Co Ltd and The Church Brewing Co
Who will make the best bevvy? The public (you) will decide.
What’s a snakebite you ask?
It’s a UK favourite that has you drinking a lager (or ale) drink, and a cider drink (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H5uWRjFsGc).
According to Wikipedia, in 2001, former US President Bill Clinton was refused a snakebite when he ordered one at the Old Bell Tavern in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, with pub manager Jamie Allen saying “It’s illegal to serve it here in the UK.”
We’re not like Jamie Allen, we like the Snake bite, and want you to like it too.
Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and get ready for five tasty treats.
